Chelsea’s buy-back clause for Tammy Abraham revealed ahead of Roma move

Tammy Abraham sat on the Chelsea bench at Stamford Bridge yesterday, and it will be his last time there for quite some time, or will it?

The Blues striker is set to confirm his deal to join Jose Mourinho at Roma today on a permanent deal, which would usually suggest the end of his spell at Chelsea.

However, the club have inserted a buy-back clause in the deal, meaning from 2023 they will be able to buy him back, if he wants to come of course.

But he wont be cheap if Chelsea do want to sign him back, with his release clause having been revealed by Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio yesterday.

Chelsea will have to pay 80 million euros (about £68m) if they want to sign him back in a couple of seasons time.

It’s wise for Chelsea to insert a buy-back clause, as Abraham is far from the finished article yet and under a coach like Mourinho, he could become VERY good.
