Carlton Cole was a target man striker who came through the Chelsea academy and didn’t get the first team chances he needed to develop and eventually had to go to West Ham to play. Sound familiar?
The same situation is playing out with Tammy Abraham, and Cole was on TalkSport today telling Abraham to take the plunge. You can’t blame him really, it worked out for him, and Tammy doesn’t look like he’s ever going to get his chances at Chelsea.
As Cole says, he can “be the main man” at West Ham.
