Nothing is concluded in the transfer window until the door is slammed closed on it, I think we have all witnessed enough of them by now to realise that.
I think this is relevant to Chelsea’s striker chase more than ever. All the noise suggests that they have very little chance of landing one of their first choice striker targets, Erling Haaland or Romelu Lukaku.
However, anything can happen in this business and things can change in an instant, despite what certain parties and people might say.
Yesterday saw the news that Roman Abramovich’s son had been in Milan trying to convince Lukaku to join Chelsea this summer, but the striker doesn’t want to leave Inter so had turned down the wage offer.
Chelsea have no intention of giving up on Lukaku even after he said no, according to TuttoMercatoWeb today.
They say that Chelsea will go back in with a bigger wage offer for Lukaku, and are willing to pay Inter up to 120 million euros for him.
You can never say never in this game folks.
