Chelsea appear no closer to concluding the striker saga, and at the moment, they are yet to even make any real moves to sign one.
There has of course been the strong reported interest in Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku, but if there have been any negotiations on these they would have been behind the scenes as nothing has come out as of yet.
However, Sport Italia (as cited by Football Italia) do claim that Chelsea tried for Lukaku, but had the door slammed shut by Inter Milan. You can never rule these things out though until that window closes.
Haaland has always seemed very tough to pull off simply because of Dortmund’s stronghold, unless Chelsea pay a huge fee.
Sport Italia say though, that Chelsea are ‘desperate’ to sign a new striker this transfer window and they have a 130m Euros budget set aside to sign him.
We aren’t in panic stations yet of course, but time is ticking on…
