Reason named from best Chelsea source why the club have yet to bid for a new striker

We have been typing up and reporting on many bits of information regarding Chelsea’s pursuit of a new big-name striker this summer over the last few months.

As the reports came in, what was clear is that Chelsea have yet to make any official offers for any new strikers, despite working on the deals and being in talks.

We were well aware that the club needed to get a few outgoing deals wrapped up or far along before they started splashing the cash themselves, but now Chelsea’s best source Matt Law of The Telegraph has revealed exactly why the club have yet to make any official offers for any new striker yet.

He says that Chelsea want to sell Tammy Abraham for £40 million before making an offer to sign one of Erling Haaland from Dortmund, Harry Kane from Tottenham, or Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.

Chelsea have been offering Abraham out to clubs as a result.
