Mason Mount set for England return for quarter final

As has been the case in every England game so far in Euro 2020, leaks about the team are escaping on the day of the game.

Sky Sports are among the major outlets reporting that Mason Mount is going to start for the Three Lions against Ukraine later today, as Gareth Southgate switches back to a 4 man defence.

A 343 was used to match up with Germany, and that meant no room for Mason, who had also missed a week of training due to his coronavirus quarantine.

If he does play today, that will not only mean one more appearance for him, it will mean the chance to earn his place back for the rest of the tournament.

There’s no word on Reece James or Ben Chilwell featuring, but we would imagine Southgate is looking to keep the rest of his team fairly consistent with the side that beat Germany.
