Liverpool ‘approach’ Chelsea midfielder who wants ‘quick pathway’ into the first-team

There are quite a few potential transfer deals involving Chelsea youngsters right now, with one having just left on a permanent deal.

Chelsea sold Marc Guehi to Crystal Palace in a surprise deal over the weekend, and it looks like further young stars at Chelsea could be about to follow his foot path and jump ship as well.

Highly rated Lewis Bate is one of those players, with his contract running out next summer and he looks to be stalling on signing an extension at Chelsea.

This will be because he doesn’t see a quick pathway into the first team at Chelsea, and this is what he wants, according to Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.

He reports that Liverpool have made an approach to sign Bate, but he isn’t interested in going their due to the same problems mentioned above, that ‘quick pathway’ into the first team.
