Former Chelsea and Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit urges Blues to get big deal done

Emmanuel Petit played for both Chelsea and Arsenal, among other great teams, but the midfielder is backing one of his former clubs above all others to make an important move this summer.

The Metro recorded his quotes on the potential Erling Haaland to Chelsea transfer, and he’s pretty positive about the whole thing – as are we:

“Chelsea need a new striker and someone who scores lots of goals. Erling Haaland is the answer. He’s strong, powerful and young with a bright future in front of him,” Petit explained.

“Olivier Giroud is on his way out of Chelsea, Tammy Abraham is probably leaving on loan, and Timo Werner is still struggling to score goals consistently and Kai Havertz is not a striker,” the former France midfielder went on.

He was also keen to point out the potential connections with Hakim Ziyech and our other creative players up front.

The reasons all add up – as fans we all know the situation better than any pundit. But the question is whether the deal can be done. He will be expensive, it will be a difficult deal to do with a Dortmund team who want to keep their gem for another season, but it can be done, if we stump up the money.
