Chelsea chase former Fulham stopper as new third choice backup

Chelsea have let Willy Cabellero go this summer, and they’re in the process of finding a destination for Kepa Arrizabalaga to move this season on loan.

That makes space for at least one more goalkeeper at the club, and according to The Daily Telegraph that man could be Marcus Bettinelli.

The Fulham goalie has lost his place in the Whites’ team, and spend last season on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship.

He knows he will be a long way from first team action at Chelsea, certainly if Kepa stays, but he will get a wage bump and a cushy job riding the bus up and down the country being a vibes guy.

Like Caballero and Rob Green before him, he might even get to lift a trophy in the bargain. It sounds like a good time to us, and the 29 year old will be sorely tempted should Chelsea’s interest materialise.
