A year ago, Chelsea fans weren’t too concerned with Antonio Rudiger’s contract.
He had two years left, he wasn’t playing well, and wasn’t even in the team most of the time.
12 months on, things have changed. He’s a key player, has done brilliantly, and is now in the last year of the deal. Sky Sports are reporting that he’s told Thomas Tuchel that he’s “100% committed,” but whether that extends to signing a new deal and staying long term we’re not sure.
It would be a shame – financially if nothing else – to lose him for nothing in a year.
