Well, there is a rumoured release clause that comes in next summer that could see Dortmund make pretty much half of the money they could probably make on the striker this summer, so it would not be wise for them to cash in now, right?
Well, according to The Telegraph, they cast doubts that there is even a release clause that exists…
The clause is unconfirmed and it is far from certain that it actually exists, claims Jason Burt, who wrote the article.
However, he confirms that Chelsea are among the clubs pushing hard to negotiate a deal for this transfer window, even though he believes a deal for next summer is more likely.
But Burt believes that Chelsea’s tactic is one that could eventually succeed, if they remain patient, and not least because they have a good relationship with Dortmund following the signing of Christian Pulisic who they agreed a deal for in January 2019 before he joined the following summer.
