Pulisic adds another trophy to growing collection to please Chelsea bean-counters

The Nations League had a bumpy start in Europe thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but the American version has been able to get off the ground a little more comfortable, and last night Christian Pulisic scored the decisive penalty to help his US side lift the title.

It was a thrilling game, finishing 3-2 to the US as they beat their old rivals Mexico, and it’s another title just a week after the Champions League for Pulisic.

While he hasn’t always been brilliant on the pitch, he’s had his moments, and these kind of high profile successes are exactly what the club was looking for when they signed him. He’s now the first US player to win a Champions League, and the captain of a stars and stripes side winning its own titles.

All that means more high profile headlines in the US, and the growing feeling that his expensive transfer will work out well for the club whether or not he manages to push on from here and establish himself as a Premier League star.
