Patrick Viera and Roy Keane agree on one thing – the talent of this Chelsea star

Patrick Viera and Roy Keane had one of the most famous and butter rivalries in English football history – but there is one thing they agree on.

Both have given Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour high praise in the last year.

Keane’s came after the Blues beat Liverpool in the FA Cup back in March. He gave glowing praise to the Scottish technician as he schooled Jurgen Klopp’s team as a relative unknown.

Now it’s Viera’s turn, as the Daily Mirror quoted him working on commentary duty for ITV as England played Scotland:

“He had a terrific game,” the France star raved.

“I really love his technical ability. He loves to get on the ball.

“His teammates aren’t scared to give him the ball because they know how good he is on the ball.

“And I think he has a really good future ahead of him,” the legendary ex-Arsenal man concluded.

That’s high praise from a midfielder with as much all round quality as you’d hope to find.

Sadly for Billy his Euros may be over already after a positive COVID-19 test. Let’s pray for him – and the watching public – he gets a second chance in this tournament.
