N’Golo Kante was excellent as France beat Germany tonight, and it all contributed to an incredible stat that the midfielder is part of.
He has started 28 games with Paul Pogba and they’ve lost… none.
Including a World Cup win three years ago, the pair have never been beaten when starting for Les Bleus. That’s a record which would win you any tournament you care to name.

Obviously, that’s about as good as it gets. Given they will both start every one of France’s remaining games, if they make it beyond 35 games they will win the tournament.
There surely can’t be many people backing against that outcome now. Kante’s team looked in control against Germany, and capable of taking on most opposition.
If they have their two star midfielders in the lineup, it’s hard to see anyone besting them in the next month.
