Maurizio Sarri set to move for his former Chelsea midfielder as first task at Lazio

The man has yet to even be announced as the official manager of Lazio yet, but he has generated his first transfer rumour already.

Reliable Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claims Sarri is just hours away from being confirmed as the new Lazio manager in Serie A, and his first point of call will be to sign a midfielder he had under him at Chelsea.

The report says that Sarri wants to bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan this summer, and then explore options to buy him on a permanent deal the following summer, assumingly as an option to buy type deal like they did with Fikayo Tomori and AC Milan.

I think there is a long way before anything like this happens, Thomas Tuchel might be keen to see Loftus-Cheek in pre-season first before making his mind up whether or not to include him in his squad this season.

We shall see.
