Maurizio Sarri confirmed as Lazio manager, with Chelsea transfer links set to last all summer

Maurizio Sarri has been announced as the new Lazio manager, in a move that may have effects on Chelsea’s summer.

The former Blues boss had been out of work for a year since leaving Juventus, but is now back in the game at a new club in Serie A.

He’s only been announced for a few hours, but already the rumours are firing up about the Chelsea players he might want to buy in to his new team.

We heard the same things when he moved to Juve of course, and none of them came to pass, but given they had recently bought Cristiano Ronaldo, they didn’t have much room to manoeuvre.

Lazio should have a little more freedom, and they have already been linked with both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Marcos Alonso.

Both look like they will leave Chelsea this summer, as the club look to clear space for signings of their own, and Lazio is probably a tempting move for both.

It will be a long and tricky process to get any move done, but we would be very surprised if there isn’t at least serious contact over some Chelsea to Lazio moves this summer.
