Lazio’s plan to get Ruben Loftus-Cheek onboard for Sarri revolution

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s time at Chelsea looks to be coming to an end, but there could be an exciting reunion on the cards.

His one and only great season at the club – cruelly ended by injury – came with Maurizio Sarri in charge, and the former Blues boss now apparently wants to take the midfielder to his new club, Lazio.

The Serie A team will struggle to match RLC’s Chelsea wages, but according to Lazio blog the Laziali, citing the Corriere dello Sport, they have a plan.

Ruben earns €4m a year (net), and while they don’t want to pay that, they hope to share the wages with the Blues on a loan deal, presumably with an option to buy at the end.

Chelsea could be tempted – there won’t be room for RLC in the squad next season, and sending him on loan to prove himself a top tier player once again would suit all parties involved.
