Fikayo Tomori will sign permanently for Milan after transfer fee issues agreed

Fikayo Tomori was brilliant on loan at AC Milan in the second half of last season, and it’s no surprise that the Italian side want to keep him long term.

They had a permanent transfer clause agreed in his loan, so there’s nothing Chelsea could do to stop the move happening. However, there have been issues between the clubs in sorting out the payment structure.

Milan are not the wealthy team they used to be, and Chelsea are in a strong position here – pay up or give him back, effectively.

According to CalcioMercato today, as cited by SempreMilan, those issues have been ironed out, and both sides will be happy with the final result. Chelsea get money for a player who didn’t have a place in the squad, while Milan can relax knowing they’ve secured their future at centre back.

It’s just a pity we couldn’t keep Fikayo as our future at centre back.
