Chelsea pair’s isolation training as they hope to return for last 16 game

Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell are still self isolating after coming into contact with covid positive Billy Gilmour after England vs. Scotland on Saturday – and the race is on to see whether they will play on Tuesday in England’s Round of 16 game.

In the meantime they are very limited in what they can do, and the Daily Mirror provided a nice summary of what their daily routine is likely to consist of, and how it’s changed.

Of course, they won’t be training with the rest of the squad – although there are 14 pitches at St George’s Park, so they will be able to kick a ball around and train outside.

The gym is also off limits – but they can apparently have weights brought up to their room.

They also won’t be able to attend team meetings in person – but video links for those won’t affect them too much.

As far as we can see, there’s no reason they wouldn’t be able to play on Tuesday – assuming they get the all clear from UEFA.
