Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell will miss tomorrow night’s England game against the Czech Republic because of their “close contact” with Billy Gilmour after the Scotland game on Saturday night.
The BBC are just now reporting the breaking news that the Chelsea pair won’t be available for selection for Gareth Southgate, who himself wasn’t sure yesterday whether he would be able to pick either of them.
Both Mount and Chilwell were seen speaking to Gilmour after full time, and apparently had a long conversation with him outside the dressing rooms.
Gilmour tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, ruling him out of Scotland’s final group game. The England pair have been considered at risk of carrying the virus, despite both having tested negative twice since full time.
If that’s not ridiculous enough, none of the Scotland players who Gilmour plays and trains and lives with day in day out, have been ruled out.
