The channel is open for Lazio and Chelsea over two potential transfers

Maurizio Sarri has signed up to be Lazio’s new manager, and that’s leading to a slew of connections between Chelsea players and the Roman club.

One rather curious one is Kepa Arrizabalaga. The goalie famously refused to be substituted in the Carabao Cup when Sarri was his manager, leading to one of the most shocking and memorable scenes in recent Chelsea history as the Italian coach stormed down the tunnel only to re-emerge.

Despite that bad blood, apparently Sarri is keen to engineer a loan deal to bring the keeper to his new team on loan.

The other link is with Ruben Lotus-Cheek, who was brilliant for Sarri in his year as Chelsea boss. Neither has had the same success since, and we’d love to see how RLC could handle a move to Serie A if he’s not going to get a chance at Chelsea.

SportWitness report on all this and quote the Corriere dello Sport article you can see below in saying the “channel is open” between the clubs for conversation about these moves this summer.

We look forward to seeing what comes next.
