Batshuayi set to make permanent Premier League move

Michy Batshuayi’s Chelsea career never got going really, and it’s no surprise that after a slew of loans he’s set to leave permanently.

That’s according to Football.London, who claim that “at least one top half Premier League club” is interested in the Belgian.

He’s got a chance to up his reputation at the Euros this summer, but apart from that he’s not really done enough to earn a move like that. At Crystal Palace this season he fell behind Christian Benteke in the pecking order and never really recovered. That’s not a great sign for a player aiming for the top.

Apart from one impressive 6 months at Borussia Dortmund, in fact, he’s just not done the business at all since joining Chelsea, on any of his various loans. He’s a nice bloke, and we’d be delighted to see him succeed elsewhere, but we’re not sure quite what he’s done to earn a top half move anywhere.
