Werner, Havertz, Mount, Kante… they’ve all had their time in the spotlight this week after great performances helped Chelsea reach the Champions League final, but the less glamourous efforts of Cesar Azpilicueta down the right flank over two legs played an equally important role for the Blues too.
Looking at his whole time at the club, Tuchel described the captain as a “key factor” and a “key player”, and praised his personality, his leadership and his ability.
The German coach is as big a fan of Cesar as we are, it seems.
