Tuchel hails Champions League “foundations” left by Frank Lampard

Chelsea are into the final 5 games of the season, and there’s a real sense that we’re into the stage of looking back and considering the campaign as a whole.

It’s all reaching a glorious crescendo for Chelsea, who can win a Champions League and FA Cup double, as well as secure a top 4 finish, over the next few weeks.

Thomas Tuchel was asked in his press conference today about what it had been like taking over midway through such a busy season, and he took the chance to praise his predecessor Frank Lampard.

He pointed out that he was only in two cup finals because Lampard was still in those competitions when he was sacked, and that – along with the progress the former boss made with a crop of young players – “lays the foundations” for future success.

Let’s hope this team go out and get the job done for Frank.
