Third key player to return for Real Madrid against Chelsea after negative Covid-19 test

Chelsea’s match against Real Madrid tomorrow night is getting tougher and tougher by the day.

Last week the Blues dominated in Spain, and should have come home with a much better result than the 1-1 they managed.

It would be encouraging to think, therefore, that we’re in a good position for the home game tomorrow night. But since that first match Madrid have strengthened significantly.

Most importantly, Sergio Ramos and Ferland Mendy will be back, shoring up a defence that we repeatedly exploited at the Di Stefano stadium. This morning, there’s more bad news for Thomas Tuchel’s team.

Sky Sports are reporting that Fede Valverde, the dynamic box to box midfielder who has proved so effectiv for Zinedine Zidane’s team in the last two years, has posted a negative Covid test and will be available to play tomorrow night.

That’s another big addition for Los Blancos, who look set to impress more in that second leg than in the first.
