Report: How Thomas Tuchel has motivated and changed the mentalities of the Chelsea players

A lack of leaders, a lack of winning mentalities – Two major things that critics have often come back to over the last few years when talking about Chelsea.

Ever since the days of John Terry and Frank Lampard, there have always been concerns of a lack of real leadership in the squad, and as I have so often picked up on, heads have easily dropped when things aren’t going our way.

Dare I say that now under Thomas Tuchel, a corner has also been turned in this department? Leaders are stepping up in their numbers with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy, Jorginho, plus more, and they also look to have a much improved winning mentality and belief.

Well, The Sun have revealed that Tuchel has bought some of this in with some interesting techniques.

‘The players were left bemused several weeks ago when they were called together at the club’s Cobham training ground to watch what they thought was a tactical film. Instead they were greeted by a video of a cinema packed full of Hell’s Angels in an ad made ten years ago by Carlsberg.’

This was apparently to convince the players to not be scared of anyone.

He has worked hard to convince players to be confident in their own ability and fear nobody.

Well, right now, it seems to be working a treat.
