Chelsea were far better than Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi final but weren’t able to win the game, and had to be content with a 1-1 draw.
Considering how much stronger Madrid will be in the second leg, they might be regretting not finishing the job.
Football Espana are among the outlets reporting the now widely known news that both Sergio Ramos and Ferland Mendy will be back for Wednesday’s game.
That’s a huge boost for the Spanish side, who were forced to use a 5 at the back formation to accommodate Marcelo at left wing back last week. It didn’t work for them at all, and Chelsea should have taken advantage.
Their talismanic captain will be back, and so will their far superior left back. We must be very careful that we don’t let last week’s confidence overspill into this week’s game – this will be a different test entirely.
