Only one Chelsea player has a better assist ratio than Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea are into the final stage of the season, with just a handful of games left for them to play.

It means we can look back at the stats they’ve accumulated this season and really consider them significant.

For instance, it’s interesting to check out which players have done best when it comes to assists. Goals are easy to keep track of, assists sometimes harder, so it’s a nice thing to check our periodically.

FBref have the numbers, and it’s pretty interesting. Timo Werner has a per 90 minute average of 0.3 assists. That’s by some distance the best in the team.

Who is second? Calum Hudson-Odoi, with 0.25. That’s just 5 for the season in all competitions – but from 19 starts that’s good going.

He’s fallen out of favour recently, but his quality is evident in the numbers. Perhaps in our next campaign he will make more of a lasting impression on Thomas Tuchel and bring up those figures even further?
