It’s easy to forget that Chelsea have actually had a very inconsistent season before Thomas Tuchel arrived at the club.
It is only since January that they have really become a force and players have really stepped up.

Which is why it isn’t a real surprise to only see two Chelsea players named in pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher’s teams of the season.
The only shock is there is no Mason Mount, but Carragher has selected N’Golo Kante, and Neville has selected Edouard Mendy – both fully deserved inclusions.
