English FA make official statement as they begin Super League enquiry that will affect Chelsea

It had all gone rather quiet on the Super League front, but do not let that make you believe that this is the last we hear about it.

Chelsea are one of the 6 clubs in England who announced they would be joining the European Super League, and then a couple of days later announcing that they would not be joining the league.

Now there are expected to be some ramifications for the 6 clubs involved, and the FA have today began their official enquiry into the situation and have made a very clear and firm statement aimed at the clubs involved.

It doesn’t sound too good for Chelsea, and we will certainly see some form of punishment I am sure.

The statement, issued via the FA website, details the steps they will now take which begins with writing to the 6 clubs to ask their exact involvement and to provide all the evidence needed.

One sections says, “Once we have the required information, we will consider what appropriate steps to take. Clearly what happened was unacceptable and could have caused great harm to clubs at every level of English football.”
