“Anything can change… let’s be open” – Tuchel doesn’t rule out final moving to Istanbul

Thomas Tuchel was given one soft question at the start of today’s press conference, asked how the mood at training is after a big win against Real Madrid.

After that, it was straight onto the big stuff. The follow up was on the Champions League final, currently slated to be played in covid-stricken Istanbul between two English teams.

Tuchel was asked whether he would support the game being moved to a stadium in the UK, and while he didn’t really want to support either side of the debate, he admitted that “anything can change,” and called for people to “be open” to changes, pointing out that last year’s game was also meant to be in Istanbul, but ended up switching to Lisbon at short notice.

Football.London had the full quotes, as the Chelsea coach tried his best to not be painted as coming down on one side of the debate or the other.
