Mason Mount was the man of the hour in Chelsea’s Champions League win over Porto tonight, scoring a superb goal to put his team in the lead.
It was his first goal in Europe, and Mount spoke to BT Sport after the game about how he felt finally breaking his duck.
“It was about time,” Mount laughed, and just like every footballer ever he then immediately commented that it was more important to get the win for the team, etc etc.
Ok, he’s right. But tonight can be about Mason too, he’s just not allowed to say it.
You can see the midfielder speaking in the clip embedded here:
"It was about time it came. I've been waiting patiently!"
"I'm very happy to score one tonight, but more importantly get the win."
