Thomas Tuchel teases fans with hints that “we could see Billy Gilmour”

Thomas Tuchel REALLY knows how to press our buttons, in a good way.

He spent the first half of today’s press conference speaking about Ruben Loftus-Cheek, comparing him with Michael Ballack.

Then he went on to the Christian Pulisic – Eden Hazard comparisons.

Where do you go from there? Hinting that Billy Gilmour could play, of course. The German coach said that “we could see Billy Gilmour” in the game against Fulham tomorrow, and insisted that “he’s been very close to getting minutes in the last games.”

We’ll believe it when we see it, of course, but with Mateo Kovacic confirmed out, this could be the moment.

Tuchel will be keen to keep Jorginho and N’Golo Kante as fresh as possible for the Real Madrid match, and if there was ever a moment to put your faith in Billy and the academy – this is it.

Go on Thomas – make our dreams come true.
