Joe Cole: There’s not even an argument over ‘manager’s dream’ Chelsea player’s ability

Chelsea beat Porto 2-0 in the Champions League last night in what was a hugely important bounce back result.

They put themselves in a great position to now advance into the semi finals of the competition with their good lead and two away goals.

Chelsea have a genuine interest in signing Sergio Aguero this summer. For that and a whole lot more of the latest Chelsea transfer updates, check out my personal news website here and the latest update from our insider.

It was important that they bounced back from a heavy defeat by West Brom at the weekend.

It was a Mason Mount goal though that eased the early pressure and put them 1-0 up, and after a great pass from Jorginho, Mount did the rest with a beautiful turn and precise shot into the corner of the goal.

The England international has been Chelsea’s consistently best player over the last couple of seasons and yet there are still very small and odd sections of people who criticise him and don’t rate him.

Joe Cole though, says there is no longer an argument on Mount’s ability, and he is absolutely spot on.

Speaking at the game yesterday, as relayed by The Metro, Cole said:

“It’s all about the turn from Mason Mount,’ former Blues star Cole told BT Sport.

“To do that on his weak foot, with that composure… this kid! ‘For the life of me, I don’t understand the criticism [of Mount]. There’s not even an argument. He’s a top, top player and a manger’s dream.”
