SportWitness really come into their own when finding truly niche snippets from Europe, and today is no different.
They’ve just dug something up from Fussball Transfers (that’s German for football transfers), which claims that Bayern Munich want Thomas Tuchel as their new manager.
Just a year ago Hansi Flick was in the process of taking Bayern to European glory, beating Tuchel’s PSG in the Champions League final. But 12 months on and relationships are decaying and it looks like Flick will be out sooner rather than later.
Bayern apparently are admirers of Tuchel, and have him on their shortlist – but surely they must know that’s an impossible task now he’s settled in and succeeding at Chelsea.
It seems likely he will be back on the market in a few years, given the Blues’ penchant for sacking, but in the short term, Munich are going to have to look elsewhere for their new man.
