The Chelsea team for this afternoon’s game against Crystal Palace is in, and there was one eyebrow raising selection in particular.
Thiago Silva is out suspended after his red card last weekend, so we would have expected Andreas Christensen back in the lineup to replace him.

Instead it’s Antonio Rudiger who comes in, with Kurt Zouma keeping his place and Christensen not even on the bench.
The word is that this is due to a hamstring injury to the Danish central defender, explaining why he is not in the squad at all.

The team should have enough quality at the back to do well here anyway. Kurt Zouma has had some brilliant games this season even if he wasn’t at his best last week, and he now has a good chance to show his quality all over again.
If we play well and keep the game high up the pitch, this should be an easy win. Palace shouldn’t have the firepower to really scare a solid back 3.
