Chelsea are on to the second leg of their Champions League semi final against Real Madrid, so of course we’re all focused on… the transfers the Blues might have lined up for this summer.
There is certainly some interesting squad surgery to be done. Sport Witness have an article translated from La Razon which claims we want Alfonso Pedraza to strengthen our team at left back.
To us, it all sounds very speculative. Chelsea have just spent good money on Ben Chilwell to lock down that position for a while – and they’ve already got Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri sitting on the bench backing him up.
Then there’s Ian Maatsen on loan looking very promising in the Championship too.
Unless the Blues shift both our senior backups, we can’t see a move for Pedraza or any other player in that position anytime soon. Considering last summer we didn’t find a suitable move at a good price for either Alonso or Emerson, shifting both this time around sounds ambitious.
