West Ham interested in signing Chelsea striker, could reignite Blues interest in Hammers midfielder

There could be an interesting potential transfer story to keep an eye on involving Chelsea and West Ham.

According to The Daily Star, West Ham have named Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham as top of their list of potential targets this summer, after doubts over his future at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel surfaced.

What is the latest on Chelsea’s pursuit to sign Erling Haaland this summer? Find out here.

It is quite clear though, that any out-right fee for Abraham will not be cheap, and personally I cannot see The Hammers being able to afford such a deal.

So this begs the question, could Chelsea reignite their interest in Declan Rice and ask for him as part of any deal?

Well, it could happen. Reading Matt Law’s Telegraph article from January reporting that West Ham are now confident that any Chelsea interest in Rice will fade away after the sacking of Frank Lampard.

The report clearly does not rule out a Chelsea pursuit in the near future, if Tuchel decided to make him priority.

It seems pretty clear that Chelsea still need a defensive midfielder, and we know Rice would surely jump at it.

Anything can happen in this business.
