(Video): Timo Werner goal disallowed for fractional offside

Gutted.

Chelsea had scored the opening goal in this game, but Timo Werner’s strike has been ruled out for a crazy tight offside.

The striker’s arm was a milisecond beyond Andy Robertson’s arm, and that was enough for VAR to rule it out – even though we know for a fact they don’t have the technology to be certain on calls that tight.

We hate VAR, and we’re not just saying that because it’s gone against us. It’s sucked the joy out of goals, and that is the most damning thing you can say about it.
