Sky Sports gave tonight’s man of the match award to Andreas Christensen, but all their talk at full time was about Mason Mount. The midfielder won the game with his second half goal, and was class throughout.
Both pundits Ashley Cole and Jamie Redknapp waxed lyrical about Mount’s showing, and his development as a player overall. Cole called him Chelsea’s best player, and Redknapp went even further, saying that Mount was “the ultimate modern-day player” for his versatility and all-round quality.
When he plays like he played tonight, it’s very hard to disagree.
