Hakim Ziyech has been playing a lot under Thomas Tuchel despite some bad performances, but tonight he made up for it with a crucial goal against Atletico.
He spoke to BeinSport after the game and explained how he’d been trying to work with Kai Havertz and Timo Werner up front. He said that he and Kai tried to use Werner’s speed in space – as we saw perfectly illustrated tonight as the German winger raced clear and was free to square the ball back for Ziyech to tuck away.
You can see the winger speaking in the clip embedded here:
"I will never give up!" 🇲🇦
After a tough few weeks Hakim Ziyech has praised team-mates Timo Werner and Kai Havertz for helping Chelsea reach the quarter-finals for the first time in seven years. #beINUCL #UCL
