Thomas Tuchel making history after another impressive win

Chelsea bossed tonight’s game against Everton so professionally that it was almost boring.

It was a throwback to Jose Mourinho’s second season at the club, where we just brushed teams aside, and the Toffees never threatened Edouard Mendy’s goal with any conviction.

Huge credit has to go to Thomas Tuchel, who is coaching out of his skin and making it look easy. The statistics show just how impressive his start to life at Stamford Bridge has been, especially defensively.

The man he was up against tonight – Carlo Ancelotti – had an impressive record himself in the dugout at Chelsea. But Tuchel’s is better. Defensively speaking, the former Dortmund boss is breaking records left right and centre after his 11 game unbeaten opening run.

No other manager has seen their team keep 5 clean sheets in their first 5 home games – and if the team play like they did tonight, they might make it to 50.
