Thomas Tuchel believes a ‘little bit of a pause’ now will help Chelsea this season

Whilst many of the Chelsea players are away with their various national sides, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel and his coaching team have some rest and some time off.

The boss is looking at the positive side of this and believes it will give them ‘time to breathe a little bit’ and look ahead to what they have to do for the rest of the season, including a pursuit for top four in the Premier League, the FA Cup semi finals, and the Champions League quarter finals.

The season is busy come the business end, and Tuchel is enjoying a little break as he gathers his thoughts for the run in.

It has been super intense since he arrived at the club at the end of January, and Tuchel has now coached 14 games between then and now.

Part of him though, will be thinking about the momentum his side has built up, and it is in a way, a shame to disrupt that.

But as he tells the Chelsea website, Tuchel is positive.

“It gives you time to breathe a little bit,” the boss said.

“It is good to have some free days. Maybe we can use it as a little bit of a pause before the decisive part of the season. When we regroup it is April and we can refocus on the next eight weeks where we want to achieve the best results possible.

“It’s nice timing. Normally I prefer to keep everybody together, but it’s good timing, and anyway we can’t change it! I will try to relax, which is normally not a problem on days off, and from there we go.”
