Chelsea defender’s instant impact in Serie A could make €28m transfer a no-brainer

Fikayo Tomori’s move to Serie A to join AC Milan was a gamble, there’s no doubting that.

But within just over a month, it’s one that’s looking to have paid out already. The defender has forced his way into the first team – at the expense of the club captain, no less, and is already something of a fan favourite at the San Siro it seems.

No wonder then that the Italian side are keen to make the loan a permanent deal. SempreMilan have translated claims from SportMediaset on the peninsula that the €28m purchase clause in his loan deal looks increasingly good value. Well, we could have told you that before he set foot in Italy.

On the one hand we want Fikayo back at Chelsea. On the other hand, it’s so great to see him playing and making the most of this big break, and it would be a pity to see him back on the bench in West London.
