Olivier Giroud grabbed the headlines this week for scoring a stunning bicycle kick in the Champions League, but its was his potential in helping others score that was attracting attention on TalkSport last night.
Perry Groves, who played for the French forward’s old club Arsenal, thinks that Giroud’s linkup with Timo Werner is something the Blues need to work on.
“If I was Werner I would love to be playing up front with Giroud, or just off him,” Groves said, and it’s easy to see why. There’s clearly a huge amount to come from both strikers, and maybe they can complement each other long term.
You can see the former Arsenal star speaking in the clip embedded here:
👏 "His hold up play is second to none."
👍 "He gets across the near post better than most centre forwards."
