Kepa played in goal for Chelsea in the FA Cup last week, which wasn’t too surprising, but keeping his place for the league game on Monday did raise some eyebrows.
Thomas Tuchel was asked about his decision in the press conference today ahead of the match tomorrow, and he insisted “he’s earned his right to play.”
Keeping clean sheets in both games will only have helped his cause. As much as Tuchel insists that Edu Mendy is his first choice, we’ve got the increasing feeling that Kepa might get more chances as time goes by.
