Marcel Desailly was on punditry duties for Chelsea against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, and despite the Blues win he noted that there was still something missing from their attacking play.
Pushed as to whether the hole he spoke of was Eden Hazard shaped, Desailly agreed wholeheartedly. He praised the effort of Timo Werner… but there’s no denying he’s not quite making a Hazard-style impact right now.
We were solid, but Atletico were bad, and that can’t be forgotten when making predictions about the second leg.
