Chelsea are in a tense away game in the Champions League hoping to get one over on Atletico Madrid, and things almost couldn’t have started any worse.
Eduard Mendy has been looking about as nervy as Kepa at his worst at times recently, and his loose touch here as he was pursued by Atletico pressers almost saw the Blues concede a shocking soft goal.
We got lucky on this occasion, but this is clearly a massive flashing red light for the team. Mendy must be really feeling the pressure from Kepa now, and it’s showing.
