Thomas Tuchel’s objectives he must meet in order to get a contract extension

New Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was reportedly reluctant to take the Chelsea job due to the short term contract that was on offer.

However, once learning the objectives that will see him earn an extension, the German decided it was achievable and is aiming for that new deal already.

Remember that time when Chelsea tried to sign Peter Crouch? No really, it happened. Throwback to a very bizarre January transfer window in 2018 for Chelsea HERE!

This is according to The Daily Mail, who claim that Tuchel must keep Chelsea in the Champions League for the next two seasons to get a new contract.

They believe his contract is heavily incentivised and contains clauses triggering an option for him to stay if the German keeps Chelsea in the Champions League for the next two seasons.

Tuchel was unhappy with the 18-month contract, but the incentives mark a realistic chance of getting a longer spell at Stamford Bridge.

In a way it is also Chelsea covering their own backs, as we all know how much they love to sack a manager!
