Perhaps not coincidentally, Chelsea chose a great moment to sack Frank Lampard. The club had just ended itโs most difficult period of the season, both in terms of fixtures and results; and were about to head into this softer period.
Thomas Tuchel has taken full advantage of playing some of the weaker teams, and heโs well and truly hit the ground running. The players look energised again, and theyโve had the best form in the league.
The stats that Sky Sports highlighted after the game showed just how huge the transformation has been:
Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel's first @premierleague game:
๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐๐ shots on target faced per game
๐ ๐ผ๐๐ touches in box per game
๐ ๐ผ๐๐ points in @premierleague
10 points from 4 games

The team are not conceding too many shots, theyโre getting the ball forward, and in a time when their rivals are struggling, theyโre impressing.
Of course the real test will be when we take on tougher teams, but this is better than we could have expected for the little time the new man has been in charge, and itโs exciting to think where we could be in a month or so โ let alone next season
